House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s mother, who with her son has accepted an invitation from Hillary Rodham Clinton to visit the White House, has reportedly repeated that her son had called the First Lady a “bitch.” In an interview with the syndicated TV program “American Journal,” Kathleen Gingrich asks: “What’s all the fuss about? Because I said she is a bitch. And that’s what all the pins (anti-First Lady buttons) are saying. Yes, she is.” She was commenting about her interview last week with CBS-TV’s Connie Chung, in which she said Newt Gingrich called Mrs. Clinton a “bitch.” But Mrs. Gingrich also said: “I think she really has the brains, really.”
