President Bill Clinton

Share

You have to say one thing for President Clinton, it has been fun watching him. I mean, you have to wonder what he is going to do next. Now he is going to run for reelection (“Clinton Says He Will Run for a Second Term,” Dec. 30). His own party doesn’t like him. Should be an interesting two years.

You have to wonder where he is coming from. I know that politicians try to disparage one another, but he is being ridiculous about it. He keeps talking about the terrible Reagan years. By every unit used to measure government, those were some of the best years we’ve ever had and the majority of the public knows it. That’s why there was a Republican landslide in the last election.

The man either has no clue to what is going on, or he is an inveterate liar (which, being a politician, is not too surprising). But, if that is the case, he has to think the citizens of this country are extremely stupid.

* Re “Whitewater Panel Was Lied to, GOP Alleges,” Jan. 4:

Sen. Alfonse M. D’Amato’s (R-N.Y.) attacks on President Clinton provide a smoke screen to conceal his own ethical lapses. Only when D’Amato releases the full information regarding the Senate Ethics Committee investigation into his own activities (which did not totally exonerate him) can we believe that his charges are anything more than mean-spirited political nonsense.
