Henry G. Morgan; Specialist in Tropical Diseases

Dr. Henry G. Morgan, 86, a globe-trotting dermatologist and specialist in tropical diseases. A Navy lieutenant commander in World War II, he served with the Public Health Service at Corpus Christi, Tex., at Midway and aboard the Coast Guard icebreaker Northwind. A graduate of Pomona College and McGill University in Montreal, Morgan served on the staff of the Hospital of the Good Samaritan and was an assistant professor at the UCLA School of Medicine. Until he closed it last year, he was medical director of the Los Angeles Overseas Medical Center, which provided immunizations and information to scientists and sportsmen traveling abroad. His office was decorated with African souvenirs that he had collected on many big-game safaris. He also donated specimens from his hunts to the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History rhino exhibit.
