Hewlett-Packard Gets Navy Contract: The Palo Alto-based company said it won a $672.6-million contract from the U.S. Navy--its biggest military contract ever--to provide computers and other products and services. Under the multiyear agreement, Hewlett-Packard will provide as many as 23,000 servers and workstations. Hewlett-Packard will be the primary contractor and program manager for the Tactical Advanced Computer program. Servers act as the base for a network of computers. Workstations are high-powered computers used by engineers and scientists.
