Firm Sued Over Workers’ Comp Premiums
A quasi-public state insurance fund said Monday that it has sued an Irvine company and four of its operators for $1 million, alleging that they misrepresented payroll and other business records so they could pay lower premiums for workers’ compensation coverage.
The State Compensation Insurance Fund said it sued Elite Maintenance Services--an umbrella name for three companies operating in Orange County--and its owner and managers: Fred Zielonko and his son Ty, both of Corona del Mar, Lee Molina of Foothill Ranch and Dixie Phillips, whose address was unlisted.
Zielonko and the other operators were not available Monday to comment on the allegations, which were made in a lawsuit filed in Orange County Superior Court on Dec. 19. The state fund is California’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance coverage.
