Gaza Residents Model for Benetton Catalogue
Associated Press
PONZANO VENETO, Italy —
Italy’s clothing giant Benetton, known for its unconventional advertising, used Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip as models for its spring-summer catalogue.
Thirty-eight pages of color pictures showed Palestinians wearing Benetton clothes in streets, shops and a school in Gaza.
The catalogue also printed quotes from the “models” about peace, war and the Palestinian uprising.
Previous company campaigns have included photographs of an AIDS victim, a Mafia killing, and a priest and nun kissing.
