Unwed Teen Moms Deserve Blame, Too

Re “For Every Teen Mother, There Has to Be a Father,” by Robin Abcarian (Jan. 25): Unwed teen-age mothers deserve to be self-blaming, self-loathing and to live bleak lives. I am a working teen-ager who grew up with proper discipline and good conservative values, and I know not to engage in sex if I am not ready to have children.

Putting the blame on irresponsible adult men does not change the fact that the unwed teen-ager is equally irresponsible. Stop treating teen-agers as if they were infants.
