LAGUNA BEACH : New Building at the Top of Senior Citizens’ Wish List
- Share via
Senior activists are exploring the possibility of creating a new senior citizens center in the city.
Jenny Goodno, president of the Woman’s Club of Laguna Beach, said her organization has $4,000 in a building fund and hopes to raise more in an effort to move out of their old center. City seniors now meet in the basement at Legion Hall, Goodno pointed out.
“It’s just horrible,” she said. “They’ve met there for 20 years.”
Goodno has her eye on a 17,000-square-foot building on Glenneyre Street, which she said would be large enough to allow day care for the city’s elderly residents and services for abused seniors.
