NEWPORT BEACH : Voter League to Mark 75th Year With Benefit

The League of Women Voters of Orange Coast will celebrate the national organization’s 75th birthday Sunday with a fund-raiser at the Village Crean, the local estate of philanthropists John and Donna Crean.

The 75th Birthday Gala will raise money to help the league provide candidate and issue forums and nonpartisan information to voters.

The reception from 2 to 5 p.m. will include skits, a silent auction, refreshments and a raffle. League publications will be offered for sale.

Orange County Supervisor Marian Bergeson and mayors from Seal Beach, Laguna Beach, Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Costa Mesa and Irvine are scheduled to attend, league spokeswoman Carol Kirkwood said.

Tickets are $25 per person in advance or $30 at the door. The Village Crean is at 2300 Mesa Drive, Newport Beach.
