THOUSAND OAKS : Developer Named to Conservancy Panel

The Board of Supervisors has appointed David C. Green, a real estate developer, as Ventura County’s representative on the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy Advisory Committee.

Supervisor Frank Schillo nominated Green, 48, of Thousand Oaks to the 17-member volunteer advisory committee. Green, who replaces Oak Park resident Brad Childs, also served on the committee from 1986 to 1991.

The committee advises the board of directors of the conservancy, a state agency that acquires parkland in the Santa Monica Mountains, Simi Hills and neighboring hills and mountains. The committee and the board meet once a month in joint session.

Schillo, the supervisors’ representative on the conservancy, said he has known Green several years and believes his previous experience on the advisory committee and his knowledge of land transactions make him well suited for the post.
