Teacher Training

Share

In a recent article (“Cal State Takes Step to Cut Remedial Classes,” Jan. 26), a California State University trustee advocates the phasing out of certain types of remedial education, stating that we should “(encourage high schools) to do a better job.” Schools do not teach students. Teachers teach students.

And it is a fact that Cal State is by far the leading producer of teachers in the state. We in the CSU (faculty and trustees alike) need look no farther than our own campuses if we wish to begin the process of getting teachers to do a better job.
