VENTURA : Bank Is Robbed for 2nd Time in a Week

The Southern California Savings bank at 996 S. Seaward Ave. in Ventura was robbed Monday for the second time in a week.

Ventura police said a Latino male in his 20s, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a thin build, entered the bank at 2:54 p.m. Monday. He walked up to the teller and demanded large bills, then left northbound on Seaward Avenue. No weapon was seen.

Authorities searched the area but were unable to find the suspect. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and plaid shorts at the time of the incident.

The FBI is investigating the case as well as a robbery that occurred at the same bank about 3 p.m. Jan. 30. The suspect in that incident was a white male about 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 185 pounds who displayed a handgun before demanding cash.
