Irvine Sensor Corp.: The firm said Wednesday that it has been awarded a $590,000 contract from NASA to develop a small video and still cameras for use on satellites.

The Costa Mesa company was awarded the 18-month contract under the federal government’s Small Business Innovation Research Program. Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena will manage the project for NASA.

The company has developed proprietary technology that stacks integrated circuits, which makes electronic equipment capable of processing data more quickly.
