COMPTON : Highway Patrol Seeks Help in Finding Hit-Run Driver
California Highway Patrol officers searched Wednesday for the hit-and-run driver of a late-1970s Chevy Camaro who killed a pedestrian.
Investigators said when the maroon Camaro hit Oscar Saenz, 29, on Sunday it lifted him onto the hood, his body slamming against the windshield, CHP spokesman Todd Sturges said.
Sturges said the driver kept going with Saenz on the hood. The car then pulled into a parking lot at Compton Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue, where Saenz fell from the car.
The motorist drove away, and a passerby found Saenz dead in the parking lot, Sturges said.
The car’s front end was damaged and the windshield was smashed, Sturges said. Anyone with information on the car or the motorist is asked to call the Highway Patrol at (213) 669-4472.
