LA HABRA — A man found shot to death Friday afternoon has been identified as Fernando Beltran Hernandez, 28, a city resident.
Despite earlier reports that the shooting was gang-related, police said Saturday there appears to be no evidence that Hernandez had local gang ties.
Hernandez was found shot in the head in the 1000 block of South Cypress Street about 12:30 p.m., after an altercation during which shots were fired from a car, said Sgt. Ray Breur of the La Habra Police Department. Hernandez died at UCI Medical Center in Orange about four hours later.
Police, who have no suspects, are continuing their investigation.
