Sun Valley Man, 73, Killed on Interstate 5
A Sun Valley man died when he stepped out of his vehicle after an accident on the Golden State Freeway and was struck by a third car that swerved to avoid a collision, authorities said Sunday.
Chris Harris, 73, was hit by the third car about 8 p.m. Saturday while on the southbound side of the freeway near Gorman, said CHP Officer Garry Goldenberg. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene, Goldenberg said.
Two lanes of southbound traffic were closed for about three hours while CHP officers investigated the accident.
