Stanton hot-rod builder Boyd Coddington has won his fifth Best of Show Award at the annual Grand National Roadster Show in Oakland for his “Smoothster” customized 1937 Ford convertible. The actual trophy is for Most Beautiful Roadster and no other hot-rod builder has won more than twice.

When not building custom hot rods that fetch prices as high as $300,000, Coddington operates a mail order parts business, an automotive appearance products company, an automotive-themed sportswear company and Boyds Wheels, which makes and sells about $15-million worth of custom aluminum wheels annually.
