Harbor Bank Names New Vice President

Wendy Sorel has been named vice president at Harbor Bank and will be responsible for managing the bank’s asset-based lending portfolio. Before joining the bank in 1992, Sorel worked in various operational and financial management positions. Sorel, who is a certified public accountant, lives in Huntington Beach. Long Beach-based Harbor Bank has Orange County offices in Irvine, Fountain Valley, Los Alamitos and Huntington Harbour.

* Richard G. Lull has been appointed president and chief operating officer of PenUltimate Inc., an Irvine developer of sales force automation solutions and software. He succeeds Paul Mondschein, who is on an indefinite medical leave of absence, as president. Lull was formerly senior vice president of sales and marketing. Before joining the company last year, he was executive vice president of sales for Fujitsu Personal Systems. Larry R. Taylor, a founder and executive vice president of research and development, has assumed the additional position of chief executive. Bill Slater, controller, has been named chief accounting officer, succeeding Paul McBride, who resigned. McBride remains on the board of directors.

* David H. Clark has been appointed vice president of Ramser Cos., a Costa Mesa real estate firm. He will be responsible for the management and disposition of assets the company recently acquired from the Resolution Trust Corp. He was previously a vice president and senior marketing consultant for Grubb & Ellis’ industrial property division.

* Donald A. LaPoint has been appointed chief executive officer of BioLase Technology Inc., a San Clemente manufacturer of laser products and materials for dentistry and other medical specialties, and Larry DeShazer is the new president. LaPoint had been executive vice president of sales and marketing, and DeShazer was executive vice president of engineering and development. In these positions, they succeed Ira J. Fertik, who resigned.
