Defending two-time champion Ellen Breen of West Hills was beaten by Yelena Batalova of Russia in the finals of ballet skiing at the World Freestyle Championships in La Clusaz, France. Batalova finished with 28.65 points to 26.45 for Breen, who suffered her first World Cup defeat this season. Breen, however, had already clinched her third consecutive World Cup ballet title.
