Bride-to-be Joann Gary got cold feet--and hands and everything else--when her car plunged into a pond hours before her wedding.

Gary was driving to the church about 2:30 p.m. Saturday when her car slid on wet pavement, hit a tree and landed in the water, police said.

Gary rolled down a window and climbed to safety with the aid of a tree limb as her car sank more than 10 feet. She wasn’t hurt, but she lost a groomsman’s cummerbund, the flower girl’s dress and her wedding shoes. Luckily, her bridal gown was being taken to the church by her mother.

With something borrowed--the shoes--Gary was married to Glenn Loveless III.
