Patricia J. McClellan has been named controller and chief financial officer of Buenaventura Medical Clinic in Ventura.

She was formerly associate administrator of finance and chief financial officer at Sutter Medical Foundation in Sacramento.

At Sutter, she headed a staff of 70 and was responsible for all financial operations, including managed care, forecasting, planning, general accounting and reimbursement management.

She also was responsible for the installation of computerized systems used in accounting and financial management.

* Michael D. Began of Ventura has been inducted as a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

To qualify for the academy, physicians must complete five years of specialty study in an accredited residency program and must pass comprehensive oral and written examinations.

Began was inducted earlier this month at the academy’s annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.

* Ramesh P. Kothari has been hired as a senior engineer by IPC Systems Engineering Inc., based in Ventura.

He will be responsible for mechanical and material handling systems, design and planning. He has more than 30 years of engineering experience.

* Seven Ventura County representatives have been named to the 27-member board of Sunkist Growers Inc.

Members from the county are Keith Barnard of Fillmore, Richard A. Lypps of Piru, Donald Armstrong of Fillmore, John W. Borchard Jr. of Somis, John M. Dickenson of Santa Paula, James H. Gill of Oxnard and James Williams III of Santa Paula.
