WESTMINSTER : Police Seek Driver in Bicyclist’s Death

Police are looking for a man they say is responsible for fatally injuring a bicyclist with his car after an argument.

Michael David Miller, 28, is being sought in connection with a collision Sunday in which a 37-year-old Westminster bicyclist was hit by a car, police said.

The cyclist, Melvin Brown, died Monday at 4:25 p.m. at UCI Medical Center of head injuries suffered in the collision in the 7300 block of Wyoming Street.

Witnesses told police that Miller, who was driving a 1980 Dodge, got into an argument with Brown about 4:15 p.m. As the cyclist rode away, they said, Miller’s auto ran into him, knocking his head into the windshield. Miller abandoned the car several blocks away and fled on foot, according to Lt. Mike Schliskey.

Miller, of Westminster, is believed to have relatives in Huntington Beach and Las Vegas. He is described as 5-foot-8, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
