Marcia Clark

In my opinion, Deputy Dist. Atty. Marcia Clark is the only one with any class in the Simpson murder trial. On March 2 The Times had the nerve to print details of her divorce case.If the estranged husband is worried about the children, he could spend time with them while she is working evenings. I’m sure she and the children would appreciate it. Is it really necessary for him to be awarded primary custody? She’s doing a great job with the trial. Is that why she’s being made to suffer on the home front? GWEN ROBERTS Los Angeles *

Regarding the current controversy surrounding Clark’s custody troubles: -It is none of our business. - Having said that, the ridiculous premise that a successful woman attorney may be considered unfit as a mother because her career obligations is akin to saying the female doctors, female astronauts, female dentists, stewardesses and female airline pilots may also be considered potentially unfit for motherhood.

-If we ever have a woman President, guess she’ll have to be a spinster! JOHN KNECHT Newport Beach *

Re “Words No Woman Dares to Speak,” Commmentary, Feb. 28:

As a working single father (with sole custody of my 6- year- old son), I take exception with Marlene Adler Marks’ blanket generalization that single fathers don’t have the same problems as single mothers when child care issues interfere with career demands. I think it’s time to move past this sort of polarizing attitude and instead focus on the true “victims” of this growing problem, our children. KEVAN PUCKETT Hawthorne
