Goodall Returning Full Time to Foodmaker Helm

Foodmaker Inc. said Thursday that Jack Goodall, who has served as chairman and chief executive of both Foodmaker and Family Restaurants Inc., will return to Foodmaker full time in those positions.

Foodmaker, best known for the Jack in the Box fast-food restaurants, said Goodall’s status is being changed because Irvine-based Family Restaurants needs a full-time chairman and chief executive.

Goodall is to remain on the Family Restaurants board of directors and continue as its chairman and chief executive until a replacement can be found.

Foodmaker, headquartered in San Diego, also holds a 39% interest in Family Restaurants, which is the parent company of Chi-Chi’s Mexican, El Torito, Coco’s, Carrows and other restaurant chains.

Renso L. Caporali, who was chairman of Grumman Corp. until Century City-based Northrop Corp. bought Grumman for $2.1 billion nearly a year ago, has severed his ties to the merged company by resigning from Northrop Grumman’s board of directors. Caporali, an engineer and veteran naval aviator, said he wants to pursue other opportunities in aerospace.

Lawrence J. Brady has joined Chantal Pharmaceutical Corp. as president and chief operating officer and has been elected a director of the company.

Chantal Pharmaceutical is the developer and exclusive marketer of a line of skin care products that is based on its patented Ethocyn compound.

Brady, who has a broad and diversified background in business and government, will direct the day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles-based company.

Gregory J. Mazares has been appointed senior vice president of marketing for Legal Research Network Inc., a Los Angeles-based research, analysis and information service for attorneys.

Mazares has been vice president of marketing for a subsidiary of Chicago-based Quixote Corp. He also has served as president of Litigation Sciences Inc., a subsidiary of Legal Technologies Inc.

Rosendin Electric Inc. announced the appointment of Tom K. Sorely to be president and chief operating officer. Robert L. Bower has been named senior vice president of the corporate-industrial division and administration. Raymond J. Rosendin will remain chairman and chief executive.

Rosendin Electric Inc. is headquartered in San Jose and has divisional offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Lewis Galoob Toys Inc. said it has named William B. Towne executive vice president of finance and chief financial officer, effective Monday.

Towne replaces Mark Shepherd, who resigned as senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer to pursue other interests, the company said.

Towne, 50, was formerly chief financial officer of Forstmann & Co. Inc.
