Wagman Named President of the Hahn Co. in San Diego

Lee H. Wagman has been named president and chief executive of the Hahn Co., a wholly owned subsidiary Trizec Corp. Ltd., effective April 25. He will also serve as executive vice president of Toronto-based Trizec. Wagman, 45, is currently chairman of Hycel Properties Co. in St. Louis, which developed, owns and manages the two leading shopping malls in St. Louis. He succeeds John M. Gilchrist Jr. who retires March 31. The Hahn Co., based in San Diego, is the largest regional shopping center owner, developer and manager on the West Coast. The company owns or manages 44 regional shopping centers throughout the country including Horton Plaza in San Diego, Downtown Plaza in Sacramento and the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas.

* Maris Laipenieks has been appointed president of Long Beach-based Acapulco Restaurants Inc., a unit of Restaurant Associates Corp., New York. Laipenieks succeeds Phillip Ratner, who left to become president and chief executive of Spaghetti Warehouse in Dallas, Tex.. Laipenieks was previously president and chief executive of Sacramento-based Eppie’s Restaurants.

El Segundo-based Merisel Inc. announced the promotion of Martin D. Wolf, to the newly created position of executive vice president of its Merisel Americas Inc. subsidiary. Wolf, who was previously president of Pleasanton, Calif.-based Merisel Franchise & Aggregation Business Inc., will be responsible for business development at Merisel Americas. Wolf remains a senior vice president of Merisel Inc. The company is a leading wholesale distributor of microcomputer hardware and software products.
