AT&T;, Motorola, Ericsson Vie for $1-Billion Order: The two American companies and Sweden’s Telefon L.M. Ericsson led the competition for orders for wireless handsets and hardware from PCS Primeco, a source close to the deal said. PCS Primeco was formed by three regional Bell companies and AirTouch Communications Inc. to bid for rights to offer a new generation of wireless telephone services in the government’s airwave auctions that ended last Monday. The alliance will award work only to two of the three firms, another source said.
