Morrison Knudsen Shares Plummet on Loss Estimate: The Boise, Ida.-based construction and engineering company said it expects to post a fourth-quarter loss of $275 million, almost double the previous estimate of $141 million, mainly because of problems at its transit-car group. The full-year loss estimate rose to $310 million from $175 million. Morrison Knudsen Corp. stock finished down $1.625 at $6.50, having fallen as low as $6 earlier in the day. It is a 15-year low. The company also said William P. Clark has stepped down as acting chairman. Clark took over when William J. Agee resigned as chairman and CEO and had said he would step aside once new management was in place.
