A New Orleans policeman fired a shotgun into a car carrying six teen-age boys in Gretna, La., after his son said he had fought with them, the Jefferson Parish sheriff's office said. Two boys were wounded. One was hospitalized in stable condition. John C. Auster, 46, was booked on six counts of attempted murder, Sheriff's Maj. John Fortunato said. Auster was the third New Orleans police officer jailed this month. One was accused of killing her patrol partner and two children; another was booked on charges of sexual assault.
