GM Sets Up R&D; Institute: General Motors Corp. announced that it has established an automotive research and development institute at Beijing’s Qinghuza University, the top engineering school in China. GM is contributing $118,900 to set up the program, the Delphi Automotive Systems Technology Institute, which will assist with product development as well as train Chinese students in auto technology. Chinese auto industry professionals, GM joint-venture partners, suppliers, customers and GM employees from around the world will participate in the program.
