GM, UAW Restart Strike Talks: Negotiations resumed between General Motors Corp. and the United Auto Workers union to end a strike by about 5,500 workers that began Friday at GM’s Pontiac East truck plant in Pontiac, Mich. Both sides met for several hours, adjourned and agreed to meet again today. The UAW wants GM to find jobs locally for 1,500 workers idled when the auto maker closed its Pontiac West truck plant in December. GM wants to transfer those workers to plants in other cities.
