Countywide : Disaster Preparedness Courses to Be Offered

In conjunction with Earthquake Preparedness Month, the American Red Cross will conduct community training courses at four locations around Orange County.

The classes will focus on what to do before, during and after earthquakes and other natural disasters.

The schedule is:

* Friday, 7 to 9 p.m., 1207 N. Lemon St., Fullerton.

* April 21, 7 to 9 p.m., 5762 Bolsa Ave., Huntington Beach.

* April 23, 1 to 3 p.m., 600 Parkcenter Drive, Santa Ana.

* April 30, 2 to 4 p.m., 27342 Camino Capistrano, Laguna Niguel.

The class fee of $5 per family includes a certificate of completion and an earthquake and disaster preparedness guide entitled “Are You Prepared?”

The guide can be purchased separately for $2.

The Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross also has a variety of earthquake preparedness kits available for purchase at its headquarters, 601 N. Golden Circle Drive, Santa Ana.

The facility is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
