Two Women Struck by Car, Killed While Jaywalking in North Hollywood
Two women were struck by a car and killed as they jaywalked across a North Hollywood street, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
Emma Sauceda, 55, and Antonia Sauceda , 53, both of North Hollywood, were crossing Magnolia Boulevard near Cartwright Avenue at 9:45 p.m. Saturday when they were hit by an eastbound car, Officer Norman Nagengas said.
Both died at the scene.
Nagengas said the driver of the car, Damion Dasaro, 20, of North Hollywood, was not arrested. “The pedestrians were in violation,” Nagengas said. “The driver waited for police and reported everything.”
Officials said the women were related but it was unknown how.
