DANA POINT : Volunteers Needed to List Historic Buildings
The city is compiling a list of historic structures and is seeking volunteers to help with the project.
The survey, to include all buildings erected before 1940, will serve as a foundation for future historical preservation.
Volunteers are needed to help evaluate properties in the field, photograph structures and research tax and building-permit records.
People with expertise in local history, architecture and construction are sought. The survey will be overseen by a consultant who will be chosen this year.
The city will accept proposals from consultants though April 28.
