A teen-ager suspected of numerous tagging incidents was arrested Tuesday after police obtained a warrant to search his home, finding pictures and diaries that linked him to $35,900 worth of vandalism, authorities said.

Members of a joint task force of California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Police Department officers simultaneously served search warrants Tuesday morning at two homes in Calabasas and Sherman Oaks, police said.

John Lake, 19, of Calabasas was arrested on suspicion of felony graffiti vandalism, and was being held in lieu of $15,000 bail at the Van Nuys jail, said Los Angeles Police Officer Jerry Beck.

Lake was linked to 20 incidents of tagging in Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Calabasas and parts of the West Valley, Beck said.

Investigators found an abundance of evidence at Lake’s home, Beck said, including graffiti scrawled on a desk, felt-tipped marker pens, diaries, address books and about 60 pictures of the suspect’s work.
