The Mission Viejo Pateadores boys’ under-16 soccer team advanced to today’s quarterfinals of the Dallas Cup XVI by beating Texas Lightning Blue, 1-0.

Victor Diaz of Orange High School scored the winning goal from 30 yards five minutes into the second half. In an earlier game, the Pateadores defeated Liga Deportiva Alajuelense from Alajuela, Costa Rica, 1-0. Diaz scored in the 28th minute of the second half.

Individual game tickets for the Bullfrogs’ Roller Hockey International home games at The Pond will go on sale Monday, the team announced.

Tickets are $8 for upper-level seating, $12 for lower-level corner seats and $18 for remaining lower-level seating and can be purchased at The Pond box office or Ticketmaster outlets.

The Bullfrogs open the regular season against the Los Angeles Blades June 3.
