Buyers who find their dream house and a dream of a mortgage still face another hurdle: the nightmare of finding an affordable homeowners insurance policy.
At the sixth annual Los Angeles Times Home Buyers and Sellers Fair, a special workshop--”Coping With the Crisis in Homeowners Insurance”--has been added to this year’s lineup of Q&A; panel discussions.
Fair-goers can find out which companies are writing new policies in Southern California, how much it costs and what type of insurance to obtain. Learn the pros and cons of earthquake coverage and how much it will cost.
The fair will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St.
Highlights of the fair will include a full range of workshops on buying and selling as well as special sessions on low-down home loans and strategies for homeowners facing foreclosure. Experts from the IRS, the Department of Real Estate, Consumer Credit Counseling, FHA, VA and a host of other government agencies will be on hand to answer your question.
