Pollution Research Reports Gains in Profit, Revenue

Share

Pollution Research & Control Corp., a Glendale-based company that makes pollution measurement instruments, reported strong gains in profit and revenue for the first quarter that ended March 31.

Pollution Research reported net income of $135,000 in the latest quarter, compared with $43,000 in the same three-month period a year earlier. Revenue improved to $1.47 million, up 14% from $1.29 million a year earlier.

Albert E. Gosselin Jr., chief executive of Pollution Research, said first-quarter results from 1994 were hampered by shipping delays and employee transportation troubles caused by the Northridge earthquake. He said that although profit and revenue improved in the latest quarter, the increases were limited by price-cutting by one of the company’s larger competitors.

“We will continue to adjust to this pressure by limiting fixed and other expenses,” Gosselin said.
