ANAHEIM

Hospital to Conduct Free Health Screenings

West Anaheim Medical Center will offer free health screenings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday as part of the 18th annual Health Fair Expo.

Screenings will be conducted for weight, blood pressure, glaucoma and body fat percentage. Blood chemistry and prostate cancer tests will be available for $25 each. The health fair will also include information about medical trends, nutrition, exercise, stress and smoking.

BREA

City Offers Class on Western Line-Dancing

A new Western line-dancing class is being offered by the city of Brea.

The beginner-level class meets from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Mondays.

Instructor Teri Gorman teaches such dances as the Electric Slide, Tush Push, Cowboy Hustle, California Stroll, Texas Waltz and Boot Scootin’ Boogie.

Gorman also teaches an intermediate-advanced class that meets from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays.

Both of the adult classes are held at Pioneer Community Hall, 304 W. Elm St., two blocks west of Brea Boulevard. The fee for two months of lessons is $15 for Brea residents and $20 for non-residents. For more information, call (714) 990-7750.

WESTMINSTER

Course Will Assist Visually Impaired

The Westminster Senior Center will offer a 12-week course for people who are visually impaired, as well as their friends, relatives and care-givers. Dubbed Independence After Sight Loss, the course will be conducted by the Braille Institute and will begin May 4. Admission is free.

The course will focus on personal management techniques, including organizing a closet, grooming, identifying money, shopping and handwriting.

Group Plans 15-Day Tour of British Isles

Irvine Senior Travelers is planning a 15-day trip to the British Isles beginning June 19. Stops will be in London, Killarney, Dublin, Chester--on the Welsh border--and Manchester.

American Legion to Host Trip to Casino

The American Legion’s Leisure World Post 327 is offering a bus trip April 25 to 27 to Whiskey Pete’s casino in Stateline, Nev.
