VAN NUYS : Rep. Berman to Give Briefing on Congress

Rep. Howard L. Berman (D-Panorama City) will give a briefing Sunday on what the first 100 days of the Republican-dominated Congress mean for residents of the San Fernando Valley.
The briefing, sponsored by the Democratic Party, is open to the public. The event will take place in a private home in Van Nuys.
Berman will discuss welfare reform issues, balancing the budget, tax cuts, crime legislation and term limits, said Carol Blad, spokeswoman for the Valley Democratic Party.
The organization is asking for a $20 contribution from those who attend, Blad said.
