PASADENA : JPL Program Director to Receive Nevada Medal

The director of the space and Earth sciences program at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena is to receive the 1995 Nevada Medal for Outstanding Achievement in Science and Engineering today.
Nevada Gov. Bob Miller will present the medal to Charles Elachi at a ceremony in Reno.
Elachi, a Beirut native, lives in Altadena and was chosen because of his help in developing space-based radar systems to study Earth and other planets.
