FULLERTON : Hunger Walk to Help Needy Set for Sunday
- Share via
The sixth annual Church World Service/CROP Hunger Walk, an event to help feed the hungry, is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.
Beginning at the First Christian Church, 109 E. Wilshire Ave., at 1 p.m., walkers will take one of two routes: a 3.3-mile loop or a five-mile course.
Proceeds raised by participants will benefit the Fullerton Interfaith Emergency Service distribution center and Church World service, which will buy food for the needy locally and throughout the world.
One walker, Fullerton resident Cheryl Rawson, who has walked across the country, raises funds for Hunger Walk recipients by collecting coins she finds on the ground year-round, event officials said.
