Allan Nixon; Actor in Film and TV Westerns

Allan Nixon, 75, actor in Western films and television series who wrote novels based on his Hollywood experiences. Nixon attended the University of Richmond, where he studied journalism. But his career path first led to professional football with the Washington Redskins. He later worked as a model in New York, where a talent scout offered him a film career. Nixon, who was married to actress Marie Wilson from 1942 until 1950, acted in more than three dozen films during the 1940s and 1950s. He had several guest spots on such television series as “Rawhide,” “Maverick,” “Sugarfoot” and “Texas Rangers.” Among his paperback novels featuring actor heroes were “Blessed Are the Damned,” “The Last of Vicky” and “The Actor.” On April 13 in Los Angeles.
