Voice Powered Posts Profit of $195,000 in 1st Quarter

Voice Powered Technology International Inc., a Sherman Oaks-based maker of products that respond to voice commands, reported sharply increased earnings and revenue for the first quarter that ended March 31.

The company’s quarterly profit was $195,000, up 86% compared to earnings of $105,000 during the first quarter of 1994. Its sales climbed 84% to $5.7 million, from $3.1 million during the year-earlier period.
