DOWNEY : Hazardous Waste Roundup Slated
The county is sponsoring a household hazardous waste roundup Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rockewell Space Systems parking lot at 12214 Lakewood Blvd.
Residents can drop off oil, paint, toxic cleaners, batteries, pesticides and other materials not permitted during weekly trash collections. Explosives, ammunition and radioactive materials will not be accepted.
County officials ask that residents leave labels on containers so workers can easily identify hazardous materials. There is a limit of five gallons or 50 pounds of waste per vehicle. Waste from businesses will not be accepted.
