Microsoft Sets Date for Windows 95 Launch: The software company now says the long-delayed program, the newest version of its best-selling operating system, will be introduced Aug. 24. Packages of Windows 95 will be on retailers’ shelves at the time of launch, a company spokeswoman said. Microsoft had originally expected to deliver Windows 95 last year and is battling continued skepticism as to whether it will make the August launch.
