General Automation Inc.: The Irvine information systems company has entered a partnership with SunRiver Data Systems Inc. in Austin, Tex., to combine their ventures into a computer information network called Pick, which has more than a million users worldwide. General Automation will manage the combined business, but both companies will divide revenue and any profits or losses. SunRiver and General Automation resellers will have immediate access to products and services of both firms. Officials from both companies said the merger would improve services and accelerate technology development.
