THE O.J. SIMPSON MURDER TRIAL : Trial Highlights

Share

Some of the key events Monday in the O.J. Simpson murder trial:

* SUMMARY: Gary Sims, a criminalist from the state Department of Justice, was on the stand for his third day of cross-examination. Superior Court Judge Lance A. Ito tried to conclude Sims’ testimony Monday, but the session ran long and Sims will have to return to the stand, probably later this week.

* WITNESSES: Sims underwent a painstaking, often highly technical cross-examination as Simpson lawyer Barry Scheck tried to sow the seeds of the defense conspiracy theory. When questioned again by the prosecution, Sims expressed doubts about some elements in that alleged conspiracy.

* COMING UP: Renee Montgomery, another criminalist from the state Department of Justice lab in Berkeley, is expected to testify today while Sims attends to personal business.
