Plunkett Snowboards Inc.: The Huntington Beach company said Tuesday that it is being acquired by Variflex Inc., a Moorpark supplier of in-line skates, skateboards, roller skates and related protective equipment, in exchange for $100,000 in cash and about 25,000 shares of Variflex common stock. Plunkett will manufacture Variflex’s new Static brand of snowboards, which will be introduced this fall. Mike Plunkett, former owner of Plunkett Snowboards, will manage the operations of Static Snowboards.
