MTI Technology Corp.: The Anaheim computer products company has acquired National Peripherals Inc., a privately held company in Westmont, Ill., for about $9 million in cash, notes and other considerations. MTI said the purchase could mean that as much as 40% of the company’s revenue will be derived from sales of equipment used for the UNIX office computer operating system, compared to about 20% before the acquisition.

Two National Peripherals executives, former President Earl Pearlman and former Vice President William Decker, will head MTI Technology’s newly created UNIX sales channel, the company said.
