Daewoo Plans Industrial Complex: The South Korean company’s project would cost as much as $1.43 billion, a company official said. The project, if authorized by the government, would dwarf all other foreign investments in Vietnam. Daewoo is already the largest foreign investor in Vietnam, with 11 projects worth $500 million, including ventures involving electronics, chemicals, cars, real estate and banking. The new project would include another auto plant, a tire factory and a consumer electronics factory, a Daewoo official said. Daewoo would build the complex in partnership with Hanoi Electronic Corp. in the Hanoi suburb of Gia Lam.
